GeoPolitical Reports
The Internet is not the same around the globe. Some countries have very different ideas about what the Internet is and how it should be regulated, monitored and utilized. Russia and Communist China (and their allied/sub-ordinate countries) insist countries have the right to regulate not only their ‘internal’ internet, but they have the right to regulate/censor what content their citizens can access and/or write. This concept of a regulated internet is diametrically opposed to the CSCSS mission to support the development of an open and accessible Internet.
The CIDC Team monitors changes in the political attitudes, legal frameworks and regulatory structure that impact cyberspace. We report changes, both positive and negative, in our GeoPolitical Reporting. Summary reports are included in some Monthly and Quarterly Digests, however detailed reports and updates are written and published separately.
We study countries based on our assessment of their influence on global cyberspace and on client interest. Countries we track for GeoPolitical Reporting include:
- Brazil;
- Communist China;
- European Union;
- India;
- Russia;
- United States; and,
- United Kingdom.
Input for these reports includes our Intelligence team as well as CSCSS Executives and members of the CSCSS Advisory Board from around the globe.
Custom Reports
The CIDC Intelligence team comes from a background where we integrate information from many sources to build a comprehensive ‘picture’ of what is going on. Due to our analysis capability as well as our ability to deliver a readily understood snapshot, the CIDC Team is regularly asked for custom Intelligence reports. The two most common requests are:
- WHO was behind that attack (and WHY?); and,
- We have operations in XYZ and we need to know more about what is going on and what is likely to happen.
These products are produced exclusively for the client. If you are not sure of your requirements, talk to a lead analyst and learn more about our processes and what CIDC can do to support your organization.
