CSRD Group Strategic Goals

The core focus and key responsibility of CSCSS is to develop, coordinate, enable, and deliver strong foundational Cyber Defence, Research + Engineering (CD(R+E)), and Scientific + Technical (S+T) research and development through the CSRD Group.

It is CSCSS policy to establish and maintain a coordinated and comprehensive program to document the results, outcomes, and achievements of CSCSS sponsored and performed research and development programs, and to provide CSCSS partners and the cyber research community with access to our efforts.

Our intention is to maximize the availability and use of research, development, technology, and engineering information and products resulting from our activities. However, due to the nature of our activities, we must make certain that restrictions are in place to protect national security, economic security, and intellectual property.

Strategically CSRD Group will:

  • Create a repository of research information to be made available to the cyber security and cyberspace research community. This repository ties into our vision of cyberspace science, research, and development, as well as the Cyber Warfare Centre (CWC) by leveraging expertise and lowering research and development costs, thus reducing development time.
  • Drive best practices using proven new technologies, build communities to deliver a collaborative space for knowledge sharing, and facilitate solutions to difficult problems surrounding cyberspace and cyber security.
  • Promote information interchanges, empowering innovation and innovators with greater efficiency, effectiveness, and agility by accelerating the knowledge delivery and value-engineering of a new cyberspace.

Globally, we must integrate our ‘collective’ to quickly fuse information into the most complete ‘big picture’ possible for use in cyber defence, defence and intelligence, and analysis of threat information and trends. A clear picture is required to facilitate response to an issue in a matter of minutes or hours rather than days or months.

Now, more than ever, we must be forward-thinking and proactive.
