Cyberspace Science Research + Development Group (CSRD Group)
The primary goal of the CSCSS Cyberspace Science Research + Development Group is to provide forward-looking, cutting-edge research and development, categorization of issues (distinguishing between technology research and strategic studies), and unique laboratory facilities that allow our faculty of researchers to support our cyberspace and security research initiatives.
Due to worldwide IT dependence, cyberspace, as a domain, has evolved into a strategic centre of gravity, globally. CSCSS collectively leverages and applies leadership, business processes, education, technology, law and policy, modelling and simulation techniques, metrics, and most importantly, people to challenges in cyberspace today.
Cyberspace Science
Cyberspace science leverages the convergence of technology and natural and social sciences, furthering their shared understanding of the nature of cyberspace, both “real” and “virtual.” Cyberspace and cyber security are deeply interwoven. We critically need to understand how to secure cyberspace, and to do so, we need an understanding of its environment. Applying science and cyber security to secure cyberspace may have a technological focus, but together they may ultimately satisfy the requirement for security design in this new environment.
Modelling and Simulation Research + Development
The Cyberspace Science Research + Development Group integrates and develops advanced modelling and simulation as a cyberspace laboratory, and offers a trans-disciplinary landscape of study, working to discover and predict the nature of exchange and connectivity enabled by cyberspace, while maintaining a scientific view of the environment.
