The Weaponry and Strategies of Cyber Conflict

Cyber warfare is now viewed as an integral and integrated module of a comprehensive national cyber security strategy rather than a detached option. It is vital that military, intelligence communities, agencies, government leaders, and security communities develop an appropriate doctrine to systematically and appropriately counter the threat of cyber terrorism and cyber warfare activities.

The rapid advancements in cyber science and cyber attack capabilities, and the emergence of cyber warfare as a legitimate military weapon, have influenced government and military leaders around the world, and could potentially trigger a cyber arms race. Cyber warfare and issues surrounding it continue to be and will increasingly be of mounting national security and economic interest and concern.

This study examines the current state of international and domestic issues as they may relate to acts of cyber warfare, cyber aggression, and terrorism through the analysis of real-world cyber events, threat analysis, and case summaries.
