Ed Lorenzini has joined CSCSS as Senior Vice President Cyber Analytics and Data Science

WASHINGTON, D.C, LONDON, UK, September 25, 2013 - The Center for Strategic Cyberspace + Security Science (CSCSS) is pleased to announce that Ed Lorenzini has joined CSCSS as Senior Vice President Cyber Analytics and Data Science. In this his role as an advisor, Ed will bring to CSCSS his years of diverse experience to address current and emerging challenges in data analytics, big data and the ever changing impact of cyber threats, contributing to the advancement of more meaningful and effective cyber security standards around the world.

Speaking on behalf of the CSCSS, President and CEO Richard Zaluski stated, “Data is all around us in one shape or form and touches all our lives. However, data is not information. Ultimately the goal is to turn data into information, and information into insight that can be used, ethically and securely. Ed brings to CSCSS a broad background in not only information intelligence and security but a rich insight into big data analytics that outpaces his contemporaries.”

Ed is currently President of Analyze, a cutting edge company focused on delivering full-spectrum cyber security and Big Data analytic solutions to their customers. Their customers represent some of the most influential names in both those domains to include global multinational commercial companies, as well national level intelligence communities, and global non-profits.

As President of Analyze, Mr. Lorenzini has over 30 years of combined military and defense contractor program management experience in information technology (IT), cyber and space systems, and command & control and battle management systems. He served a 20 year career on active duty in the Air Force as an acquisition program manager and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Prior to founding Analyze, he led the cyber security training product-line of one of the top 5 largest defense contractors. During this time, Mr. Lorenzini planned and executed the creation of an extensive cybersecurity workforce development curriculum for a brand new military occupational specialty within the Department of Defense. In addition, his team trained a select cadre of Presidential network security force and delivered cybersecurity training via virtual lab and live instructor to U.S. diplomatic network personnel worldwide.
He also led the creation of the Digital Intent Discovery and Recognition (DIDAR) program, a “big data” analytics product that fuses intelligence from satellite based assets with commercial and intelligence data for national security and border protection agencies. Mr. Lorenzini has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering Management from the United States Air Force Academy, as well as a Master’s of Science Degree in Systems Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).
