Executive Director for the Open Security Exchange Ron Martin Joins CSCSS as Senior Advisor

WASHINGTON, D.C, LONDON, UK, September 11, 2013 - The Center for Strategic Cyberspace + Security Science (CSCSS) is pleased to announce that Ron Martin, Executive Director for the Open Security Exchange, has joined CSCSS as Senior Advisor. Mr. Martin, in his role as an advisor will engage with CSCSS and bring his years of experience to address current challenges in cyberspace security and provide leadership in CSCSS development based on the understanding that cyberspace is an essential for future; as well as examining the influence on cyber standards around the globe.
“The convergence of different systems and environments will challenge enterprises at all levels to provide responsive and relevant services,” said Ron Martin. “Cyberspace is an environment that provides the platform of a new world of service. CSCSS is an organization of "Thought Leaders" that will provide clear and concise research of the operational art of "Cyberspace Security Science".
Mr. Martin is the sole proprietor of Consullition, LLC. The Consultancy Coalition (Consullition) provides Business Strategy Consulting Services to the management of our clients. He supports client support strategies include organizational positioning the firm’s Business Process and Analysis, Capture Management Strategies, Enterprise Architecture, Security Convergence Integration along with Identity, Credentialing and Access Management Programs.
He also serves as the Executive Director for the Open Security Exchange. Established in 2003: Open Security Exchange is an association of security experts that provides a forum for security firms, consultants, end-users, government agencies, manufacturers, system integrators, and allied organizations to mutually define opportunities for Physical & Logical Convergence & Interoperability.
Ron developed an identity, credentialing and access management curriculum for Capitol- College, located in Laurel Maryland. The Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) program will provide organizations with a consolidated approach for implementing secure identity initiatives. He has lectured nationally on ICAM, Breeder Document Authentication and deploying Physical Security Enterprise Architectures. The use of these techniques will assist with secure interoperability across organizations.
Ron retired from the U.S. Federal Government where he served as a Physical Security Expert for the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Security and Strategic Information responsible for the development, coordination, direction and assessment of a nationwide physical security and Identity Management Programs. These duties included providing Physical Security Subject Matter Expertise to the National Institute for Standards and Technology and the Federal Identity, Credentialing and Access Management Sub Committee. Upon his retirement from the Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection presented him with an award of excellence for his service to the Federal Interagency Security Committee.
Ron is a retired US Army Officer with over 27 years of active and reserve military police service. While on active duty he served as Military Comptroller, Provost Marshal, Comptroller, Security Manager, Doctrine Literature Writer and Instructor. In between tours of active duty he served 5 years as a civilian police officer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He currently serves on the Security Industry Association and ASIS International Standards Committees. Ron holds an Associate of Applied Science degree from Northern Virginia Community College, a Bachelors degree from George Mason University and a Master of Science degree from Frostburg State University. On the 2nd of February 1990, The Governor of the Commonwealth Kentucky designated Ron as an Honorary Kentucky Colonel for his service to the Commonwealth. In 2005 the Georgia Senate in Senate Resolution 439 recognized and commended Ron for his outstanding service to Augusta/Richmond County, and the State of Georgia.
